The O’Grady Pro-Am Golf Tournament is a sanctioned Northern California PGA event and hosts 36 pros competing for a $7,000 cash purse. Amateur players represent executives from the business and produce community who honor the memory of Adele and Johnny O’Grady, who were strong advocates for their MS neighbors.
Founded in 1968 by Adele O’Grady,
Multiple Sclerosis Community Services (MSCS) has remained committed to
assisting MS residents of Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties.
MSCS is not affiliated with the National MS Society and does not receive
any state or federal assistance. All funding is obtained through private
donations, participation in community events, grants from local service
organizations and foundations, and annual fundraising events. As a local
independent agency, MSCS can ensure that ALL monies raised remain in
the tri-county area to help local MS people and their families. Over the past 15 years, the O’Grady Pro-Am has raised over $375,000 for this agency. These funds have enabled MSCS to provide direct assistance in the form of in-home nursing care, respite care, adaptive equipment, medical treatments, support groups, financial aid and more.

******** The O’Grady Pro-Am Golf Tournament is sanctioned by the Northern California PGA and attracts some of the best golf professionals from our region who compete for a $7,000 prize purse. We invite you to join the pros for an exciting day of golf on one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in the county. Please complete the enclosed sponsorship form and return it to the MSCS office as soon as possible, as we expect the tournament to fill up very quickly. THE GOLFERS Special invitations have been sent to Northern California PGA professionals, inviting them to attend this popular NCPGA-sanctioned event. Sponsors and area golfers will complete the pro-am teams. FORMAT A modified pro-am scramble with teams consisting of one pro and the pro’s amateur partners. The team play will be "best ball" between the pro’s ball and the amateur’s "scramble" ball. The scramble teams will be balanced by handicaps prior to the start of play by the Tournament Committee and a team handicap assigned. (Pairings will be by draw, no exceptions.) June 2007 Dear Friends, Do you know that there are over 1000 people living in our community who have Multiple Sclerosis? Do you know that there is no know cause or cure for MS? Do you know that there is a local, independent agency that provides free programs and services to your neighbors living with MS? Whether single, married, raising a family or planning for retirement, those with MS never know what tomorrow will bring. This disease promises only uncertainty, and that is why since 1968 Multiple Sclerosis Community Services has provided valuable support to those living with the daily challenges MS presents. During a time when so many individuals and their families are in need of the services this agency provides, fulfilling that commitment becomes an even greater challenge. That is why the O’Grady Tournament Committee is seeking your support of this annual fundraising event.
